Hyukin Michaela Kwon is a South Korean writer and director working across playwriting, screenwriting, fiction, and directing for stage and screen.Her recent work explores themes such as intergenerational trauma and inherited psychology, social rigidity and self-worth, and the realities of a super-aged society.Her radio play Steady Eyes was produced by BBC Studios Audio and broadcast on the BBC World Service.She has been a resident writer at the University of Vienna (2026), the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa (2025), and the Vermont Studio Center (2025), all supported by Arts Council Korea.She is currently based in Vienna, developing two new stage plays.
